Lie No. 6: God Should Fix My Problems

"The Truth is, life is hard. We live in a fallen world. Even those who have been redeemed live in earthly bodies and have to deal with the realities of temptation, sin (both our own and others'), disease, loss, pain, and death." p. 58

It is never wrong to pray and ask God to make things better. It is never wrong to be angry or sad about the pain in our lives. But understand that there is a reason you are going through this trial, and God may never "fix" it, at least not the way you want Him to. You may still lose that loved one, you may still get cancer, you may never get the job you think you're supposed to have, you may always be "just scraping by" in this world. God never promised a life of physical and material abundance; He promised one of spiritual abundance. And that is something that no situation in this life can ever steal away from you. And if you accept that and live your life with that perspective, you will find that every situation is designed to grow you into the person that God created you to be.

"But he knows where I am going. And when he tests me, I will come out as pure as gold." Job 23:10
