Upon first seeing this, most of us will quickly and quite proudly claim that we're smarter than that. Of course we believe God is good. We're not fooled by that lie. But are you?
"Your first response to some of these lies may be, 'I don't believe that.' One of Satan's strategies is to blind us to the lies we have bought into - to make us assume that because we know the Truth, we also believe the Truth...Theologically, intellectually, we know that God is good. But deep in many of our hearts, there lurks a suspicion that He may not really be good - at least, that He has not been good to me." p. 46, 48
There are many things about God that we know in our head to be true, but knowing and believing, and living like we believe it, are very different concepts.
In the wake of the terrible earthquakes in Haiti, the loss of a job at home, seeming to never have enough money to cover the bills, the loss of a loved one, abuse, betrayal, illness, and every other trial and tribulation that for some seem to never fade, do you still believe with every ounce of your being that God is good, always good, always good to YOU, in absolutely everything he does?
"And we know that God causes all things to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to His purpose." Romans 8:28
